The Design Principle



We have over 10 years of experience in developing and designing eBike tuning kits. From the initial CAD model to the production-ready product, our badassBoxes undergo numerous iterations, ensuring we ultimately deliver optimal results in terms of reliability and user-friendliness.

The Solution


We've equipped the new badassBox 5 with our slimmest design yet. This makes it even more compact and discreetly blends into the background. A fitted silicone seal reinforces the housing, making it dustproof and water-resistant. The adapter connection is also protected against moisture ingress. As with its predecessors, the box's internal components are encased in a special potting compound, providing complete protection from the elements. We've also added the latest Bluetooth Low Energy technology. This allows you to connect your smartphone to get even more out of your tuning! More on that below...

Modular System


For the latest generation of the badassBox, we opted for a modular system. Since most engine types require their own customized tuning kit, there used to be a confusing array of tuning devices. We want to create clarity and flexibility at the same time. Therefore, with any badassBox 5, you can choose the adapter that's right for your engine system.

Easy to Install and Use


We continue to deliver our eBike tuning kit contactless. This means that our badassBox does not interfere with your motor system through any electrical connection. This simplifies installation and guarantees complete reversibility of the tuning system.

The App - Boost Buddy

We developed the Boost Buddy app for iOS and Android to add a user interface to the badassBox. This is entirely optional: every badassBox 5 can also be installed and operated without the app.

Tailored for your best experience


We developed the app from the ground up specifically for the badassBox 5, ensuring perfect hardware and software compatibility. The app is platform-independent and available for both Android and iOS.

Boost Buddy offers a variety of great features to perfectly tailor your box to your tuning preferences. Dynamically switch the tuning on and off via your smartphone while riding, or activate stealth mode. You can also view your actual speed and distance traveled – values ​​that are distorted on your integrated eBike display by the tuning. To ensure you always have the latest tuning options, you can update your box's firmware via Bluetooth.

Invisible Tuning with Stealth Mode


For those who want to be discreet, we offer our new Stealth Tuning Mode. With the "On when connected" mode activated, the box recognizes your phone as a trusted device and only activates the tuning when your phone is actually connected. If another phone, or no phone at all, is connected, the tuning remains inactive.

See your actual speed and trip


View your actual speed and trip distance. This value is usually distorted by active tuning. Your eBike display doesn't show you the true speed and distance. Our app gives you access to these values ​​– precise and in real time.

Set your own Freeze Speed


The app allows you to select a freeze speed. If you exceed this value while driving, the badassBox begins tuning by continuing to apply the freeze speed to the engine system. This leads to the engine assisting you beyond the usual speed limit.

FIRMWARE-UPDATES

Despite all the claims by manufacturers and workshops, firmware updates and upgrades for e-bikes are also gateways to features that could take away or restrict your choice of tuning.

We therefore recommend that you do not carry out any updates or upgrades to the motor firmware or have them carried out, for example by a bike service center, in order to retain the option of tuning.

An e-bike that works probably does not need an update.
